Gleam Studio and beyond
I co-founded Gleam Studio with my good friend and colleague, Johnny Swanepoel, specializing in high-end retouching and post-production for advertising agencies both locally and abroad. Over the years, I refined my skills and shifted my focus to photography enabling me to handle the entire process from shooting to delivering a polished final product based on the knowledge I’ve gained.
1988 - 2007
The Agency Years
I began my career in advertising agencies, starting with Bester Burke, where I worked with the creative team, ensuring that-ready artwork and colors were perfect before printing. I then developed my expertise as a high-end retoucher at Spin Images, working on campaigns across fashion, beauty, automotive, and other major brand advertising projects. In 2005 I joined The Jupiter Drawing Room as a Senior Retoucher, working with prestigious clients like, Windhoek, and Sanlam.
1995 - 1998
The Training Years
After finishing school, I studied with Hirt & Carter, focusing on everything related to Mac, before starting my first job at a print repro house. There, I gained essential skills in understanding the print process and mastering color.
